This diploma thesis points to the absence in organization of work from a view of the employers of Grandhotel Brno, which eventuated from the questionaires and it contains the plan how to get the organization better.

It contains proposals for improving the company promotion, which include new methods of the company marketing communication and their application in practice, leading to a growth of the hotel and the restaurant.

The principal aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to design an accommodation facility concept including specific strategies and arrangements meeting the principles of environmental sustainability and green management. Research results obtained from managers of green accommodation were compared to results of other re-sources dealing with the issue. Questions of ecological certification, finance, speci-fic arrangements, barriers, benefits and perspective of guests and staff were examined with regard to green management. One of the findings was current inapplicability of European ecological certification in Czech hotel ma-nagement. The concept takes into account the findings of the research and its ap-plication to the existing accommodation facility helps to understand the costs as-sociated with its realization. Solutions are specific and still applicable for any kind of accommodation facility. Results can be valuable for hotel managers interested in sustainability and efficiency, institutions granting the ecological certification but also for guests and households.

The importance of eco-certification in sustainable tourism

The thesis aims to evaluate the benefits of applying environmental certification in the tourism sector within the context of sustainable development. The first part contains the key definitions in the tourism, and its effects on society are characterized. The gradual evolution of man's relationship to the environment we get to the concept of sustainable development and sustainable tourism. The second chapter introduces the eco-certification, as a tool for sustainable tourism development, from concept definition through historical development, typology to the international context. The third chapter is devoted to eco-certification in the Czech Republic from the beginning to the current situation, creating a basis for analysis of the importance of eco-certification for companies in the Czech Republic in the final chapter. In the fourth chapter a final assessment of the importance of eco-certification in the field of tourism is carried out, based on the results of investigations made, with proposed measures and the prediction of future trends.
Deciding on Inventory Replenishment in a selected Restaurant Business

This thesis deals with a decision making process about supplying inventory in a chosen organization. Particular activities include decision making about supplying inventory; inventory optimalization; purchasing inventory and its receive; storing and dispensing from storehouse. In the theoretical part of chapters there are stated basics of the issues, their structure and methods of solution of these issues. In the practical parts of chapters there are described individual problems in the selected organization. The final parts of chapters contain rating of differences between the theoretical and practical parts, the author's personal opinion on the given issue and a recommendation of certain adjustments for the established system in the organization.
New Trends in Hotel Management and Marketing and their Application to the chosen Hotel Operation

Work is focused on the latest trends in hotel management and marketing. The main aim is to suggest a strategy and marketing management for hotel Julian **** Prague. Secondary aim is the implementation of marketing research regarding customer satisfaction and situational analysis of the hotel. The theoretical and methodological section describes the theoretical basis for the theme from professional sources. The chapter is divided into two parts, each of them deals in detail with the latest trends in management first, then in marketing. An overview of the object highlighting the main points necessary to approach the character of the hotel. On company profile is established the detailed situation analysis that includes PEST analysis, analysis of competitive forces and SWOT analysis. The last chapter is a marketing research project focused on customer satisfaction with communications hotel via the internet. In conclusion, followed by interpretation of results situational analysis and marketing research and recommendations on marketing management hotel.
Optimalization of labor force in a Family Hotel

Primary objective of this bachelor thesis "Optimalization of laber force in a Family Hotel" is to solve the linear task of optimalization of the work force in the family hotel Balkan utilizing the Hungarian method and sub-sequently using the optimalization system LINGO. For optimalization is used the modification of assignment problem, which belongs to typical tasks of linear programing, so called distribution task. Theoretical part of this thesis describes not only linear programming itself, yet it is just focused to distrubution methods. In the practical part the task is treated by both of the above mentioned ways. The objective is to create the schedule of assignments of the given position to the concrete person at certain day. The secondary objective of the bachelor thesis is to compare the results of the solution of both methods and evaluate which variant is more suitable in this case.
Use of coaching in hotel chains management

Coaching has become a phenomenon of the 21st century. It is considered to be one of the most effective methods of personal and corporate development and the way of communication. When participating in management style, coaching tends to strengthen responsibility, creativity, motivation and power to overcome internal and external barriers obstructing staff improvement. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the use of coaching in hotel chains management. Borders disappearence, free trade and the internationalization process create favorable conditions and new opportunities for expansion of hotel chains, recruitment of international workforce as well as the arrival of large numbers of both domestic and foreign tourists. The society has discovered the extraordinary potential of multicultural teams, but also realizes the threat caused by their improper leading. Nowadays, the managers and directors are forced to work under increasing pressure. Firms and employees requirements are becoming more and more demanding. On one hand, flexibility, independence, expertise and ability to act effectively in crisis situations are needed. On the other hand, ambitions and aspirations of employees themselves are also getting more obvious. The companies already know that a well-chosen leadership styles lead to the attainment of corporate goals and achieve personal and professional staff developement. During the eight-month work placement in one of the leading Spanish hotel chain Iberostar on the Canary Islands was studied approach and management styles on different levels of the organizational structure. Based on observations, structured interviews and the actual involvement in the managerial team work, the study serving as a basis for a final proposal for the application of coaching in this particular chain has been created. Considering the international work environment and multicultural teams, so typical just for tourism industry, the issue of cross-cultural management is also discussed. The previous coaching and intercultural communication studies at Johannes Kepler University in Linz have become the theoretical basis in this area.
